    Pizzas on the list

Four numbers, four listings, nothing rounded up. The one figure nobody publishes is a start date, so there is no year on this page.

The kitchen

Wood-fired on Pier Street,
and licensed at the bar.

Pizza first, because that is the order the sign puts it in. Behind it sits the rest of an Italian kitchen: pasta, risotto, parmigiana, salads, steaks and seafood, a fireplace inside and tables out on the footpath in the Altona Village strip.

  • Wood-fired oven, and a bar with a licence behind it
  • Footpath tables out the front, a fireplace inside
  • Ordering runs on the venue’s own page, not a delivery marketplace

In the kitchen

Four things happen
before it hits the fire.

Dough, sauce, cheese, then the peel. Nothing on that list can be rushed and nothing on it can be faked, which is why a wood-fired kitchen still runs on hands.

One The base, pushed out by hand on a floured bench.
Two Napoli sauce, one turn of the ladle, edge to edge.
Three Mozzarella, scattered by the handful.
Four Onto the peel and into the mouth of the oven.

And then you watch it happen

Five Turned on the peel until the crust takes colour all the way round.

Midweek

Parma night,
Wednesdays from five.

Five parmas to choose from at twenty five dollars, a drink included, the Numero Uno Traditional among them: Napoli sauce and cheese, nothing hiding under it.

Parties

Kids make the pizza,
hat and all.

Pizza-making parties run in the shop. Every kid gets an embroidered Numero Uno chef hat, a named apron and their own Pizza Maker bucket, then builds a pizza that goes into the same oven as everyone else’s.

  • Branded chef hat, apron and bucket to take home
  • Hands on the dough, not a demonstration
  • Booked over the phone with the shop

Dessert

There is a
sweet end to it.

Four separate listings disagree on the opening and closing times, so the real ones go in here after a call to the shop rather than a best guess. Google’s live listing showed the kitchen open and closing at 10pm on 10 September 2026.
